Let’s see, where do I start? Let me start off by telling you a little bit about myself. I’m 41 years old. I have a wonderful wife and baby boy, who recently just turned 21 months old. We live in a nice home in Ventnor City, New Jersey. Just in case you didn’t know, that’s the next town over from Atlantic City. It’s a beautiful area right along the Jersey shore. My wife and I have been happily married for four years now. My wife and son are my life. Everything I do on a daily basis is totally for them.

Now, let’s go back a bit to how I started on the path to self-employment. I had several jobs, but never was happy in any of them. I grew tired of making my bosses rich, and decided to try to obtain some of that wealth myself. I decided I wanted to start a business. I didn’t have a lot of money to invest in my business, that was the problem. I didn’t want to let a little thing like money stand in my way. So, I had to be creative; which leads me into the next part of my story.

Back in 2001, I was scrambling around for business ideas. Not having a lot of money, I decided to take a shot with eBay. I started out slowly, by first selling off what I had in my home. It went okay. I had several sales at first, but they weren’t enough to sustain a long-term business. Therefore, I stopped selling. The good thing about eBay is that you can start or stop your business on a dime.

I restarted my business in August of 2007, where I eventually became a powerseller on eBay. Now today, I’m still selling on eBay, and also looking to expand to other auction sites, and also my own website. Things are looking up now.

So, the moral of the story is , that if I can do it, you can do it. Take care for now.

      Hi George,

Good for you in deciding you wanted a better lifestyle and preferred to do your own thing rather than feather your employers nest.

That’s all it is really – getting off your backside, doing something and sticking with it.

Interesting to read about your Ebay business as a powerseller, what products were you selling?

      Regards,

      Bill
