Where Do We Go From Here?

Today, I want to talk about change. Not the change you have in your pocket, or the change you’re collecting in your piggy bank, but rather a mental change — as in doing something different, starting over, or starting something new.
When I first decided to create this website, I wanted to share the information I was finding about the various offers and opportunities that were available for people to make money on the Internet. I envisioned this as a place where we could all come together and exchange ideas about how to become your own boss and make a good living off the Internet.
Unfortunately, when I fell into the clutches of Information Overload, I not only went “off script”, but I also strayed away from my original objective for this website and particularly — this blog. Instead of telling you about ways to make money, I was simply treading water and letting the waves of Information Overload take me off in another direction.
As this year approaches its end, however, I have decided that it is time for this change I have talked about, and while I am finally taking two steps forward, I am also taking one small step backwards. In other words, I’m going back to the beginning and revisiting my original plan.
Over the coming months you will see some big changes here. A few will be a surprise, but some I am excited to share with you now.
First, while I will be returning to my initial concept for this website, I will also introduce some new ideas as well. I want to not only talk about different ideas for your e-commerce business, I want to take you through the steps as I rebuild my own eBay business and start selling on Amazon. I will tell you more about my niche (vintage toys) and also give you inside information about my eBay and Amazon scores.
If you’re not into eBay or Amazon — don’t worry. I’ll be talking about the other business ventures I’m involved in also. In other words, there will be a little bit of something for everyone!
Finally, I’m contemplating on starting some sort of mastermind group. I want to create an environment where we can all learn from each other and share our business ventures together. More to come on that later.
In the interim, I’m also a forum moderator for Jim Cockrum’s awesome membership site,
“My Silent Team.com” Check it out when you get a chance.
As you can see, I’m a busy little beaver!
I hope you’re looking as forward to the journey as I am!
~Until next time

  1. Hi George,

its always a good idea to revisit your plans and see where you are going, I tend to paint mine in wide brushs strokes and fill in the details as I go along.

Best of luck and looking forward to hearing your progress.

    • Hi Robert,
Thanks for the comment. “Wide brush strokes.” I like that! Great analogy for life! 🙂

  2. Hi George!! I am part of the THC group. That is how I came across your Great Information. I have Really Enjoyed the last 2 posts. I have been doing ebay since 11/2001, and have over 10,450 items listed (great_stuff_2006) and I have indeed learned a lot throughout those years. With that much inventory and owning 6 businesses … I have not had time to venture into Amazon (yet).
I look forward to what you will be sharing with us, and would be Happy to be part of the mastermind group.

  3. Hi George,

As Rob said mate, it never hurts to visit old plans and take action on them.

I have a whiteboard with a full set of plans that I never touched due to winning a competition and taking part in the Learn With Sally coaching, which took me in a new direction.

I’ll get to use those plans as I put a lot of thought into them and it still makes sense to me…. I’m just doing some other things at the moment 😉

I look forward to seeing the blog in the new year mate and wish you every success 😎

    • Hi Barry,
Thanks for stopping by! What’s the old saying? “Life is what happens while we were making other plans.” — I think we are all where we are suppose to be, we sometimes just don’t know it. 😉

  4. Hey George,

you have been a busy little bee matey. I think we should all take the opportunity to stand back and re-assess our course from time to time truth be told.

The thing is, it’s so easy to become unfocused in this business, because there are just too many interesting things happening.

But right now I actually am making a concerted effort to stay focused on getting the pre-launch stuff done for my upcoming launch in early 2014.

Great post though George. Keep it coming. I’m looking forward to seeing your direction in the new year too.

    • Hi Paul,
Thanks for the comment. I read somewhere that re-assessing a business is like adjusting the sails on a boat. It’s good to take a moment ever so often to make sure that you’re still on course. If you’re not — it’s time to let those sails out, adjust things, and get yourself back on track.

  5. Hey George, it’s so cool to see you getting the bull by the horns man, I definitely love when somebody’s mindset changes radically (for good) so I’m genuinely excited to see what we’ll see on this new venture.

Ps. Don’t worry about getting a bit lost in your initial goal, it happens to all of us man, the idea is to be aware of it and then correct the path again!

    • Hi Sergio,
Thanks for the comment. You’re so right — being aware that you’ve gotten offtrack really is the first step. Sounds like we both are correcting our missteps!

  6. Hi George

Your plans sound really exciting and I’d looking forward to hearing more about them!

I revisit what I’m trying to do every now and again and it helps me to get back on track, or alternatively to change direction.

    Good on ya George!

    • Hi Tim,
Thanks for stopping by! It’s funny how easy it is for things to go astray if we don’t check in with ourselves ever so often, sounds like you’ve figured that out too! I heard someone say it’s like resetting the compass on a boat. It has to be done or there’s no telling where you’ll end up!

  7. Good for you George! I know our last conversation earlier this year you were wanting to take the blog in the direction of what you enjoy doing the most which I think you should. I mean if you love selling on eBay then I think you should help others that want to go that direction as well.

I’m glad you’ll be sharing other things as well since you know I’m not involved on eBay or Amazon. I’m glad that you’re busy and hope you’re enjoying what you’re involved in.

Thanks for sharing this and I look forward to hearing what you’ve got in store for us.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your week.

    • Hi Adrienne,
Just back from Jim Cockrum’s conference, so as you can imagine — now I have lots of new ideas! Just gotta find the time to implement them all! Thanks for the kind words and comments!

    • Hi Bonnie,
Thanks for your comment. I know you’re right, but some days it feels like it’s one step forward and two steps back. I guess slow and steady really does win the race!
